MISSION STATEMENT

Ideology Pictures is committed to the purpose of making motion pictures that investigate the fundamental cultural, political, economic, and social assumptions of the American people and its cinema. By supporting such films, it hopes to expose American audiences to ideas, subjects, characters, and themes not often found in traditional mass media.

Special focus will be given to films that and filmmakers who: provide a counterpoint to mainstream ideas; attempt to break myths, especially those generally supported by films; question existing institutions or challenge prevailing assumptions; exercise the right of dissent; encourage the audience to look at a subject in a new way; display empathy for characters who have traditionally been depicted as villains or enemies; expose stereotypes; and incorporate influences from world cinema into American films.

Ideology Pictures, Inc. was formed by Greg Marcks on July 18, 2002.
